Under the provisions of Section 5 (1) of the Public Records Act, 1993 read with Rule 3 of Public Records Rule, 1997 every records creating agency of the Government of India and Union Territory Administration has to nominate one of its officers, not below the rank or grade of a Section Officer, as Record Officer.
The National Archives of India, being the nodal agency for the implementations of the Public Records Act, 1993, has been conducting Orientation Courses for the Departmental Records Officers nominated under the said Act. In this connection the calendar of Orientation Courses to be held during 2007-08 appended herewith along with the nomination form.
No fee is charged for the training and the course material supplied to the participants is free of charge. However, the outstation participants shall have to make their own arrangements for Boarding and Lodging.
